CLYDESDALE CARRIAGE COMPANY
Please enjoy the pictures of my "big boys" at work.
It wasn't until I applied for a part time job in early June of 2002 with intensive training for three months to drive a horse with a carriage, that I found my calling. It wasn't simply the experience of driving a carriage that was remarkably different from riding a horse; it was the connection with my Clydesdale, Bill, that was the foundation from which my carriage business was built.
My passion for the horse and carriage led me to the idea of driving a hearse with a team of draft horses. Beau, a big, gentle Belgian had been a pasture mate with Bill, the Clydesdale for years. In 2006 a friend in Tennessee phoned with the perfect match for Beau. His name is Nick and from the very start, the two Belgians became the perfect team. Like brothers, they completed my dream team! Gentle, willing, very large and very personable!
And now, my dream continues. My friend in Tennessee phoned again with the next addition to my family. He said it was an opportunity not to be refused. Bob and Doc, two very large, but very gentle Belgian horses were meant for me! Now, I have four matching Belgian Draft Horses that work well together.
The New Belgian team, consisting of all four horses, has now been named "The Gold Rush Hitch". Watch for these Golden Boys in future events.
